Cybersecurity Working Group (CSWG)

​Description

The purpose of the Cybersecurity Working Group (CSWG) (formerly the Digital Security Working Group) is to provide a forum to address the application of digital data security technologies and standards to ATA e-Business specifications. The CSWG establishes best practices and conventions for the application of digital security in the ATA standards and serves as a resource to the other ATA e-Business Program working groups as needed.

The CSWG is responsible for the maintenance of ATA Spec 42, Aviation Industry Standards for Digital Information Security. ​​​​​Spec 42 provides comprehensive guidance on the use of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) in Civil Aviation applications, including the ATA Spec 42 Reference Certificate Policy. Spec 42 also provides criteria for users and auditors wishing to assess an implementation’s compliance with the specification.
